Martin’s start in the industry traces back to his childhood in the town of Dundas Ontario, where his father would take him to investment and retirement planning seminars at the local public library. This was his first real-life experience with the role that money plays in household finances, and it sparked an interest that continued through high school and university. Upon graduating he knew that helping people with their money is what he wanted to do.
Setting goals, defining risk and managing expectations -and the range of emotions that come with the subject of money, are all part of his approach to his client’s investments. With 31 years of experience in the industry, his focus is on delivering a better client experience.
Know Your Money is more than a turn of phrase at First Capital Financial, it’s a motto and Martin uses an education-based approach to helping clients understand their current financial situation and where they want to be in the future. He believes that if clients have a fundamental grasp on both, they will have peace of mind knowing they are financially secure for what comes next in their lives.
“The best part of being a Financial Advisor, is that client’s tell us their dreams, and invite us to be part of helping them realize them”.
-Martin Weiler
